Jay Philipsen brings extensive global experience in energy infrastructure, renewable power, and mission-critical data center construction to his role at KGO. With a strong technical foundation as a licensed electrician and a background in business management, Jay combines hands-on field expertise with strategic project leadership to deliver complex projects safely, efficiently, and at scale.

Throughout his career, Jay has managed the full lifecycle of large-scale infrastructure projects ranging from $20M to $600M. His experience includes overseeing utility-scale solar developments, managing engineering design and grid interconnections, leading procurement and commercial partnerships, and directing risk analysis and critical path scheduling. He is highly skilled in budgeting, cost control, change management, and ensuring operational readiness from development through commissioning and ongoing asset management.

Jay has also led the delivery of large, mission-critical data center campuses through construction, commissioning, and live operations. Acting as an Owner’s Representative, he ensured build-to-design execution, led site-wide QA/QC and integrated systems testing, developed operational procedures and switching plans, and supported cross-functional teams in high-stakes environments requiring uninterrupted performance.

Earlier in his career, Jay managed large electrical teams in 24/7 critical operations environments and supported major infrastructure construction projects internationally. His ability to align engineering, construction, and operations teams allows him to maintain a strategic view while executing with technical precision and a strong focus on safety.
