Arafath Hussain // Project Manager

Arafath Hussain is a project management professional with more than 9 years of experience delivering multimillion-dollar projects across mission-critical, federal, healthcare, commercial, and residential sectors. He specializes in complex construction programs within active and occupied environments, combining technical expertise with strong leadership in project execution, stakeholder coordination, and operational planning.

Arafath has led full lifecycle project delivery across a wide range of complex programs, with project portfolios ranging from $20M to $60M. His experience spans both design-build and design-bid-build delivery methods, including mission-critical infrastructure, healthcare facilities, federal installations, and active campus environments. As a founder and managing partner of Insight Construction Company LLC, he has overseen federal and mission-critical project execution with a focus on aligning technical requirements, schedule objectives, and stakeholder priorities to reduce risk and improve project outcomes.

Currently supporting projects within the AWS campus environment, Arafath brings extensive experience working in live, occupied facilities where maintaining operational continuity is critical. His expertise includes phasing strategies, access control planning, shutdown and outage coordination, utility tie-ins, logistics management, and schedule-critical sequencing designed to minimize disruption while supporting ongoing operations. He has also worked closely with commissioning teams and startup personnel to support mission-critical system turnover and operational readiness in active facilities.

Throughout his career, Arafath has coordinated complex MEP systems across mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and controls disciplines within highly technical, multi-trade environments. His responsibilities have included contractor oversight, subcontractor coordination, field execution management, quality control, client communication, schedule management, safety compliance, and stakeholder alignment. He has also served in Owner’s Representative roles, supporting field execution, contractor performance management, issue resolution, and alignment between owners, designers, and construction teams.

Arafath’s federal project experience includes multiple U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) programs ranging from $2M to $27M, as well as Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) healthcare construction projects and National Park Service (NPS) infrastructure and renovation programs. He is recognized for successfully managing projects within highly regulated environments while maintaining compliance with federal standards, healthcare requirements, and strict operational constraints.

In addition to project execution, Arafath brings strong expertise in estimating, cost control, change management, and preconstruction planning. He has led value engineering (VE) efforts during both preconstruction and construction phases to improve constructability, reduce costs, and enhance project performance. His experience includes change order management, pricing review, scope validation, entitlement assessment, and negotiation support with owners and subcontractors. He has also implemented estimating process improvements and developed scopes of work that have contributed to securing millions of dollars in awarded contracts.

Arafath is highly proficient in modern construction management technologies and project controls, including Procore-based management of RFIs, submittals, field reporting, issue tracking, and documentation workflows. Known for his structured and analytical approach, he consistently improves project delivery outcomes through process optimization, standardized controls, and proactive constraint resolution across active construction environments.

Arafath holds a Master of Science in Civil Construction Engineering & Management from George Mason University and a Bachelor of Engineering in Construction Technology & Management. He also maintains multiple industry certifications including OSHA-30, EM-385-1-1, CQM-C, and ASHE Healthcare Construction, reflecting his strong foundation in safety, compliance, and quality-driven execution.
